💭 The Role
Tripplo is looking for a business operations focused, entrepreneurial Finance Manager (FM) to join its Finance Team. The FM will work closely with the CFO to assist with the daily operations of accounting & finance at Tripplo. The FM will be responsible to deliver timely & accurate financial reports, develop finance processes & financial controls, banking, tax compliance as well as other relevant finance & accounting related workflows.
The role will be ever-changing & will require the candidate to be flexible & open-minded while being detail-oriented & capable of helping create processes & controls for a fast-growing company. The role will focus on the South Africa operation as well as operations in other countries as may be required.
🤝 Responsibilities
- Financial reporting, analysis & monthly management accounts & reporting.
- Liaising with investors & address any reporting queries
- Monitoring, processing & managing day-to-day financial transactions, with timely & accurate invoicing.
- Receivables & payables management.
- Cashflow management & keeping a pulse on runway.
- Creating, reviewing, monitoring & managing budgets.
- Ensuring that all cargo customers & transporter supplier agreements are in place & valid.
- Taking control of differently timed payment run, signing off on loaded payments for release.
- Ensuring accurate & complete financial records are maintained in the accounting system – SageOne.
- Preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
- Preparing for & project managing year-end audits, working closely with auditors to deliver audited financial statements efficiently & timeously.
- Constant understanding of tax laws & IFRS for SMEs – VAT, PAYE, Income Tax &export / customers taxes.
- SARS submissions in South Africa & potential tax submissions in other countries, ensuring 100% tax compliance.
- Working closely with the CFO & COO to support their finance & operating needs.
- Helping develop strategies that minimise financial risk.
- Operations, administrative & investor relations tasks.
🎓 Key Requirements
- CA (SA).
- 5+ years relevant experience.
- Financial instruments knowledge.
- Experience working in a start-up or high-growth business preferable.
- Strong planning & execution skills.
- Hands-on approach & problem-solving abilities critical.
- Advanced Excel experience.
- Experience with Sage accounting systems or similar systems.
- High degree of accuracy & attention to detail.
- Experience with Forex transactions advantageous.
- Good interpersonal skills & ability to work within a small team.
- Proactive individual who can work independently with minimal supervision.
